This Consumer Protection board was her idea as head of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the TARP. She has been a strong advocate for it in Washington. Her integrity is plainly obvious from this advocacy and vocal promotion of a consumer protection board. She brought her Harvard Law Professorship skills to bear when scrutinizing the TARP program, it’s deals, failings, and short comings. Her analysis, investigation, criticism, and communication of the TARP program vis-a-vis taxpayer interests has been stalwart and is a clear indication of her qualifications and receivership as head of CFPB. Her staunch support for consumer protections is remarkably evident and ethically principled. Her everyday humility and resolve is surprising and refreshingly so given the special interest atmosphere of the Washington beltway, and it’s lobbyists.
Professor Warren has carefully thought through not just the policy goals, but the implementation challenges. There will be no time-in-training; on the first day she will hit the ground running as she has done from the beginning.
Senators have a powerful role in the decision and we consumers demand you fight for consumer rights as hard as she has. The best way to do that is by publicly supporting Elizabeth Warren and letting Washington know that consumers have gone unprotected long enough.
Elizabeth Warren is the BEST candidate for the job to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau!
